Toronto
During July of 2009 I was offered and accepted the chance to travel with my friend’s family to Toronto and other areas of Ontario for twelve days. Prior to this trip I was recommended two blogs; the Torontoist and BlogTo-both equally useful, its really just your preference of features. We stayed in Richmond Hill which allowed me to see how diverse the area was in culture, but I managed to spend an equal amount of time in downtown Toronto.
The main gallery I visited was the AGO in Toronto. The first thing I noticed was two huge paintings by Robert Motherwell and a painting by Picasso. The architecture and layout of the building led to an unique experience contrasting most art galleries or museums–the closest I would relate it to is the modern section of the National Art Gallery of Art in D.C.
